The film "From the Edge of the Blade", about the Oaxacan popular uprising of 2006, will be screened at Café Mestizo in Chicago, on November 22nd, at 7 PM.

The event is a fundraiser supporting activists and prisoners in Oaxaca.

The screening will take place almost two years after November 25th 2006, when the Mexican Government unleashed a brutal wave of repression against the Oaxacan social movement, killing activists and detaining and torturing hundreds of people - the violent response to a the modest demands for democratization put forth by the social movement.
